MCB Welcomes Adam Guttell as Partner in Employment and Labor Practice Group - February 9, 2015

MCB is pleased to announce that Adam Guttell has joined MCB’s Employment and Labor Practice Group as a Partner effective February 9, 2015. Mr. Guttell’s addition to the Group, led by Greg Reilly, demonstrates MCB’s commitment to exceptional client service and the continued expansion of its employment practice. “We are very excited that Adam has agreed to join our team. He will enhance MCB’s ability to provide first class service” stated Mr. Reilly. MCB’s Employment and Labor Practice Group represents companies and executives in a wide range of issues that arise out of the employer-employee and partnership relationship from hiring to termination and establishment to dissolution. The attorneys of MCB provide experienced and knowledgeable representation and believe that counseling and educating their clients can prevent or reduce the potential for litigation. To assist our clients, the Firm counsels clients, prepares contracts and policies, and reviews employment manuals and procedures. Additionally, MCB’s Employment and Labor Practice Group defends claims involving a full range of employment issues, including hiring and firing, whistleblowing, non-competition and non-solicitation, contract negotiation, wrongful discharge, wage and hour requirements and union and management relations.


Mr. Guttell joins the Firm from Jackson Lewis, P.C., a national labor and employment law firm. He has extensive experience in representing clients across various industries in federal and state court proceedings, as well as private mediations, arbitration, and administrative hearings. In addition to representing clients on employment related issues ranging from discrimination and harassment to violations of all state and federal fair employment laws, Mr. Guttell actively litigates restrictive covenant matters, including breaches of non-competition, non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements. He routinely counsels clients in drafting and enforcement of all manner of agreements related to employment. Mr. Guttell counsels clients on compliance with various state and federal laws affecting the workplace, including Title VII, Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Fair Labor Standards Act and New York State and City Human Rights laws. He is a frequent speaker before business, legal and human resource professionals, lecturing on topics including restrictive covenants and employment agreements, state and federal anti-discrimination laws, state and federal wage and hour laws, and recent developments in employment law. Mr. Guttell has co-authored articles appearing in publications of the New York Law Journal, M.D. News, and The Risk Management Quarterly.


Mr. Guttell is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey.
